Scoliosis
We were referred to Dr. Feldman by a local sports orthopedic surgeon. Our daughter, Emma, had been struggling with her mobility: her gait was off-kilter, she favored one side of her body to compensate for her imbalance and she had an uneven shoulder blade. I had previously taken Emma to a litany of orthopedic specialists in New York, none of whom were able to diagnose what was wrong with her or provide her with the proper treatment.
Emma first saw Dr. Feldman for scoliosis: Dr. Feldman observed the curvature in her spine in the EOS scan during our follow-up appointment, immediately ordered a full-spine MRI, and diagnosed Emma with a tethered spinal cord. He partnered with Dr. Kaveh Asadi-Moghaddam (Dr. Asadi), a pediatric neurosurgeon, who performed the surgery to correct the attachment. Emma’s physical therapy went smoothly, and she was able to recover and resume her gymnastics at Keep Flippin’ within three months.
Thank you to Dr. Feldman, his team and his partners at the Paley Institute for their high standard of care and everything they’ve done for Emma.
